Carlos Martinez
President and Founder

Mr. Martinez has twenty three years of experience in the development, implementation, and project management of large scale software applications. During his career with EDS and PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Martinez performed various consulting roles including systems engineer, management consultant, and Principal Consultant. He was one of the initial designers of the PREMAS application that later became the SAP PRA module of the SAP Upstream solution. Mr. Martinez is highly regarded in the E&P Upstream software industry as an expert in the execution and implementation of SAP Upstream projects. He has also worked with numerous Oil & Gas Companies in the implementation of software applications. He has served multiple consulting and leadership roles at various organizations in the Oil & Gas Industry including IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Marathon Oil Company, Chevron, Texaco, Apache Corporation, EOG Resources, Merit Energy Company, Penn Virginia Corporation, Cano Petroleum, and BP Amoco. Mr. Martinez has also taught graduate courses as lecturer at The University of Texas at Dallas. He is currently President of Strategic Systems & Products and has overall responsibility for the firm. Carlos is best known for his energy to execute and his visionary business style. Mr. Martinez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management from the University of Puerto Rico, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas, and has completed Executive Education at the Harvard Business School.


Scott Beckman
COO         

Mr. Beckman brings tremendous value and experience to our team.  He brings over 30 years of operational and delivery leadership in the consulting and Energy industry.   He has held Partner roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, IBM, BearingPoint, and KPMG.  He was on one of the early development efforts of PW’s PREMAS and led the implementation of the leveraged software.  Scott started in the SAP world in 1992 and has led SAP R/2, R/3, MySAP and ECC implementations.  During his time at Price Waterhouse, Mr. Beckman grew the SAP Energy practice to the most dominant in the business.  He has led and delivered projects at Shell, Mobil, Amoco, Pennzoil, Hess, Penn Virginia, Exxon, Wal-Mart, and Marathon. He led the development of parts of the SAP Implementation methodology and taught the early Change Management classes.  Mr. Beckman also developed and led a critical global relationship with EDS while at PwC, combining both companies’ specialties to win in the outsourcing market.  Mr. Beckman is known for his ability to build high performance teams and delivering tangible results for clients.  He started his career as a Revenue Accountant and Gas Sales Rep at Texas Oil & Gas.  Scott has an Accounting degree from Indiana University, Bloomington.
 

Karina Shatsman
Marketing and Service Delivery Manager

Ms. Shatsman brings immense leadership and consulting skills to our practice. She has performed roles ranging from Consultant to Project Manager at many of our successful READYUpstream implementations. She was originally part of the Energy Practice at BearingPoint Consulting prior to joining our firm. Ms. Shatsman has deep understanding of SAP Financials, Controlling, Joint Venture and Revenue Accounting processes used at Upstream Oil & Gas Companies. She also has international consulting experience in the implementation of SAP Financial applications for companies with international Upstream Operations. Most recently, she executed the role of Project Manager at our CONSOL Energy READYUpstream implementation. The project covered all areas of SAP Production Revenue Accounting as well as integration with SAP Financials, Controlling and Joint Venture Accounting. Ms. Shatsman holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Trinity University. She is also a graduate of the SSP Consulting Professional Development (CPD) Program. Ms. Shatsman is best known for her outstanding client relations skills as well as her entrepreneurial drive.


Jack Thelen
Satellite Center
Manager

Mr. Thelen brings twelve years of technical and functional SAP experience to our team.  He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a technical ABAP consultant.  Jack worked on multiple SAP upgrades and implementations across several industries for companies such as Marathon Oil, Hunt Oil, BP Chemical, Kellogg/Keebler and Dr. Pepper/Seven Up. Most recently Jack held multiple SAP related positions at a manufacturing company.  Hired as a senior ABAPs degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University, College Station. Jack is best known for his technical skill set and knowledge of application integration points as well as his ability to communicate with others to accomplish goals and objectives for the organization.
   

Wendell Gray
Senior Manager

Mr. Gray brings a wealth of project leadership and delivery experience throughout the SDLC process.  Wendell has led diverse teams delivering on-time and on-budget projects for many years.  He has been involved in detailed project management across a number of industries and process areas, He was one of the original developers of PW PREMAS, the predecessor to SAP’s IS Oil Upstream Solution – PRA. At one point he was the Product Development Manager for the software.  He has led teams of consultants and clients through both implementation of the software and the integration with the legacy systems.  Wendell also has led teams through the infrastructure selections and implementation.  He has been the project manager over broad scale testing teams and development teams several times in his career.  He has worked at a vast array of companies including, Exxon-Mobil, BP-Amoco, Chevron-Texaco, Amerada Hess, Apache, Williams Energy, Pennzoil,  Ocean Energy, Reliant Energy, CLECO, Mississippi Valley Gas, Entergy, and Texas Instruments.  He began his career at TI after graduating from Texas A&M with a Computer Information systems degree.
